London Bridge Hospital - Private Care at Guy’s opens
On Monday 24th April we opened our brand new expansion of our campus – Private Care at Guy’s.
This beautiful and truly stunning hospital is part of our London Bridge Hospital campus, bringing the very best in medical minds, facilities and equipment all under one roof!
The ribbon was cut at 9.15am by our Medical Director, Dr Kamal Ahmed, a Consultant Nephrologist who has been with London Bridge Hospital for over 30 years. He was joined by consultant colleagues Dr Majid Kazmi, the Clinical Director from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust as well as Consultant Breast Surgeon Mr Nick Beechey-Newman and Dr Robert Marcus, Consultant Oncologist.
Our Chief Executive Officer Janene Madden gave a welcome speech, thanking all those who have worked so hard in getting this hospital open. Our Construction Project Manager Michelle even ran the London Marathon the day before we opened – superwoman! Liz Bradley, our Senior Oncology Manager, Richard Goatman, our Associate Chief Nursing Officer and Miranda Dodd, our Chief Operating Officer have led this project with Michelle to see us open on time to receive our first patients today. A huge thank you to all of our hardworking teams, from IT to theatres, to patient accounts to the catering and kitchen teams, who have worked tirelessly throughout.
We were delighted to be joined by representatives from the Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust to help us open the centre, including Sir Hugh Taylor, Chairman of GSTT and David Cheesman, Cancer Programme Director. We are very proud to be working alongside the NHS, in particular Guy’s Hospital and the beautiful Cancer Centre.
