To continue paying homage to our Hospital’s 30th Hospital. PA to CEO Barbara Cooper shares her highlights from the past 19 years.
How long have you been working for London Bridge Hospital?
What has been your highlight so far?
I thought it was the opening of St Olaf House but the Shard is truly amazing.
Do you have a memorable patient story that you wish to share?
A patient was terminally ill and wanted to get married to his long-term partner. Helping with the planning of the wedding in our boardroom was special.
What do you think has been the hospital’s greatest achievement in the past 30 years?
Having John Reay as a CEO and watching him grow the hospital into what it is today.
Where do you see the hospital in 30 years’ time?
Most definitely the leading private hospital in the world.
What has been your most memorable occasion whilst working here?
Watching the Queen’s 60th anniversary celebrations on the River Thames from the windows of the St Olaf House boardroom.
What personal achievements have you accomplished whilst working at LBH?
Becoming a party planner – I’ve been organising the huge Consultants’ and Staff parties for the past 10 years.
What piece of advice would you give to any new members of staff?
Work hard and take pride in what you do. It’s a great place to work.
Do you have a birthday wish for the hospital?
That the hospital continues to grow to ensure we carry on with the exceptional care we give to patients.
