Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is the most common endocrine disorder in women, affecting between 6 and 21% of the female population. A lifelong condition, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is associated with a higher risk of heart disease and diabetes, as well as menstrual dysfunction, infertility and depression.

Lung cancer to rise by 2040

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer after breast cancer, around 40,000 people are diagnosed each year in the UK.  This week the BBC reported that reserarchers at Kings College London had found that people with lung cancer will double by 2040 from 65,000 to 137,000. This number will disproportionately affect women. Awareness about breast cancer affecting women is widely known, but lung cancer actually causes more death in women than breast cancer. Sadly, it has been reported that rates of lung cancer in women continue to rise.
